On Friday (1st March 2019), we saw the LSU Elections draw to a close. After five incredible days of voting, 6,402 students cast their votes to elected Loughborough’s new Executive Officers and Section Chairs for 2019-2020.

The past year has seen a number of changes for Loughborough Students’ Union, with a new Union Director and a new executive structure to name just a few making the votes cast this year all the more important - the new team will be working to ensure you have the best experience while your at Loughborough and your involvement in that process has never been more important.

Your Executive Officers for 2019-2020 are:
LSU President: Salomé Doré
Vice President: Darcey Dunne
Education Executive Officer: Ana-Maria Bilciu
Welfare and Diversity Executive Officer: Matt Youngs
Sport Executive Officer: Lauren Durkan

Your Section Chairs for 2019-2020 are:
Action Chair: Pippa Baynham
Enterprise and Employability Chair: Ashleigh Ponder
Rag Chair: Maz Di-Felice
Societies Chair: Abby Reynolds
AU Clubs Officer: James Greer

A huge congratulations to all of our candidates on their phenomenal campaigns which have seen them elected into their respective roles. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank every single one of our candidates who stood this year – without you, there simply would be no election. A big thumbs up also to all of the campaign teams who have worked tirelessly for each of the candidates, and kept us entertained, from quirky campaign videos to extravagant campaigning on campus. We look forward to welcoming the newly elected officers to the team in July, ready for a year of action, and change.
